Neil Payne taught at several Cambridge colleges before more recently concentrating on adult education at Stapleford Granary. As an artist working with mixed media, paint and print, he is constantly seeking to develop new ideas and uses of media. From abstraction to studies from nature, landscapes and experimental surfaces, his students should never need feel restricted by ways of looking, doing and achieving! He loves teaching and, in turn, his students inspire his own work.
These courses are aimed at those new to mixed media, so don’t be afraid if you are a beginner. Still life, object drawing and landscapes will form the basis of our activities.
Discover the basics of working with a range of media, mixing ideas, techniques and enjoying the thrill of experimentation with materials such as acrylics, pastels, graphite, oils or simply mixing the lot!
Aspects of surface texture, layering, collage and simple printmaking will also be explored, to create a portfolio of exciting ideas.
