Enrico Tomasso's Dixieland All-Stars

Enrico Tomasso, trumpet & vocals | Malcolm Earle Smith, trombone | Mark Crooks, clarinet | Joe Webb, piano | Harry Sankey, rhythm guitar | Simon Thorpe, double bass | Matt Skelton, drums

This all-star group had been specially assembled to celebrate the best of Dixieland and Chicago Jazz. From the music of King Oliver to Bix Beiderbecke and Eddie Condon, enjoy Dixieland favourites led by the trumpet and vocal stylings of ‘Britain’s Louis Armstrong’ Enrico Tomasso.

Enrico is one of the top trumpeters on the UK jazz scene and six times winner of Best Trumpet category in the British Jazz Awards. A popular figure at many European jazz festivals and clubs, his technical prowess, stylistic invention and lively stage presence place him in the top echelon of jazz musicians. Guided by Louis Armstrong as his childhood mentor, he has played with many great British and American jazz musicians and made studio recordings for Bryan Ferry’s The Jazz Age and As Time Goes By; and film and television soundtracks including The Great Gatsby, Babylon Berlin and Shooting Stars for the British Film Institute. His latest solo albums include Al Dente available on Woodville records and When Louis Met Bix, a collaboration with American ‘Bix' supremo Andy Schumm on Lakeside records.
