'A very beautiful album that represents something of a milestone for Duni & Luft'
- the Jazzman, Lost Ships
Inimitable Albanian-Swiss singer Elina Duni and BBC New Generation guitarist Rob Luft perform music from their acclaimed albums Lost Ships and A Time to Remember - folksong, jazz, chanson and broadway ballads enclosed in a warm Mediterranean sound. Their songs explore themes of love, exile, loss and separation and their music has been described as 'quietly powerful... passionate and grave... beautifully uplifting'.
Duni and Luft are two of the most distinctive musicians on the European jazz scene. Duni has been an ECM recording artist since 2012 and her hallmark combination of traditional Albanian folk songs and jazz has lead to worldwide critical acclaim. Jazz guitarist Rob Luft won Breakthrough Act in the 2018 Jazz FM Awards, Instrumentalist of the Year in the 2020 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and Instrumentalist of the Year in the 2019 Jazz FM Awards. In 2019, he was selected as a BBC New Generation Artist.
