'Great songs, poignant, emotional vocals, masterful guitar and fiddle/flute conversations that work
like fine embroidery – no wonder critics love them'
- Larry Groce, host of NPR Music’s Mountain Stage
Formed in 2013, The Jeremiahs are an Irish folk band who gained immediate recognition by winning the Showcase competition at Ballyshannon Festival. Two years later, they released their debut self-titled album, including a track, Forgotten Sons, which won the 2015 TradConnect Songwriter Showcase competition, summarised by adjudicator Christy Moore as the song that 'tickled my ears the most'.
Their music, described as fresh, brave and bold and at the cutting edge of modern Irish folk, is a combination of their own songs and a choice selection from the catalogue of older folk tunes. They are acclaimed for the abundance of excellent musicianship in evidence' (Folk Radio UK) and vocal work that is 'nothing short of astounding' (Live Ireland).
'One of the freshest bands in Irish traditional music' - Séan Laffey Irish Music Magazine
